OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY IN ALL EVERY PHASE OF THE PRODUCTION PROCESS
One of our main objectives at ODILE is to embody the harmony between Portuguese fashion & lifestyle while being sustainable. In a world where environmental awareness has become an urgency and a necessity, ODILE stands out in the field of offering sustainable collections. To achieve this, we place transparency and traceability at the heart of the manufacturing process, using organic and recycled fabrics such as OEKO-TEX® or GOTS certified organic fabrics - which helps to reduce water consumption, energy usage, and natural resource depletion - recycled paper buttons, biodegradable shipping bags, upcycled leather ...
Is organic cotton truly an alternative?
Indeed, the cultivation of organic cotton is much less water-intensive compared to conventional cotton cultivation. Organic cotton cultivation consumes approximately 91% less water than traditional cotton cultivation. This means that organic cultivation requires about 10 times less water than conventional methods. Organic cotton uses less water because the cultivation methods allow the soil to retain more moisture, thus reducing the need for irrigation.
Recycled Paper Buttons
As for our buttons, they are made from recycled paper, which allows us to stimulate the recycling industry by supporting companies engaged in sustainable practices. By using recycled paper materials, we minimize the demand for new paper production and reduce the strain on forest resources. These buttons provide a sustainable alternative while maintaining their functionality and aesthetic appeal. At ODILE, from the beginning of our journey, we have created a colorful collection of wool cushion covers, 100% woven on traditional looms, as well as rugs and tapestries.

The eco-responsibility at ODILE goes beyond the materials used and encompasses every aspect of their business, from design to packaging and transportation. We pay meticulous attention to each step to minimize our environmental impact. For instance, we ensure that our delivery packages are made from recycled materials, and our labels crafted from recycled paper. Additionally, we prioritize partnerships with local suppliers, not only supporting the local economy and Portuguese craftsmanship but also reducing carbon emissions associated with transportation.
Moreover, through these partnerships, we contribute, on our scale, to the preservation of these artisanal wonders while helping to sustain professions that unfortunately tend to disappear.
